THE LANGUAGE OF INTERIORS
“FLOORING, WINDOW AND WALL TREATMENTS TRANSFORM A ROOM AS THEY SET THE STAGE.
LIGHTING, ART AND ACCESSORIES PERFORM AND CREATE PERSONALITY.
FURNITURE IS YOUR INVITATION TO RELAX AND ENJOY.”
PEG LESSARD
Hi there – so glad you are here! My name is Peg Lessard – A creative, journalist, out-of-the box stager & interior stylist who sees the possibilities, with a passion for being the fly on the wall that tells my client’s story. A career inspired by a love of textiles, I also take great joy in designing vignettes that stage and detail inviting interiors. Peg Lessard, Principal – STAGE CURATE
PHILOSOPHY: Design is in the details. Curating today’s details welcomes tomorrow’s vision. Listening with experienced eyes and ears, my signature style streamlines and unites the eclectic with the tailored, mirroring each client’s story and persona. Sustainable vintage fabrics and furnishings will usually find their way into my design aesthetic, especially when we need an extra pop of personality. Enthusiasm and play are also essential ingredients to effortless design, keeping it simple, honest and congruent.
PURPOSE: Emphasizing the ‘fun’ in function, my aspiration is to partner with potential clients to create relatable sustainably designed environments that surprise and emote smiles of satisfaction and…”home”.
A “LITTLE” HISTORY…
The catalyst for a career in design – A one of a kind world of whimsy; from day one, everyone gravitated to Lavender’s Blue, a magical little retail store in Santa Monica, California where my collection of children’s apparel and furnishings met vintage fabrics and cottage industry artisan Waldorf style toys…and children’s interiors. It was like merchandising a dollhouse – heaven on earth for me! Featured in LA Style, LA Times and Victoria Magazine, Lavender’s Blue was the go to for children’s room design, personal shopping and movie props.
Relocating to my East coast roots in the late 90’s, my next business venture, HauteInteriors.com, gained fast momentum in the Baltimore-Washington corridor in early 2000. Designing the mess halls and captain’s quarters for the infamous USNS Comfort Hospital Ship in the Baltimore Harbor was a joy and honor.
“With a career rooted in a place where children’s imaginations reign, play is forever etched in my design perspective.” Peg Lessard
More recently, I have added accreditation in redesign and staging vacant and occupied homes and offices. Addressing today’s aging boomer population after my own experience with a loved one, I also attained my certification in residential transitioning. My specialty includes advocating for seniors as they scale down and/or staging in place home modifications and design for those who want their homes updated to meet aging and/or health concerns.
